GC Milk Wintermelon vs Wintermelon Milk

Ever wonder what the difference is between Gong Cha’s Milk Wintermelon and Wintermelon Milk? Ever wonder why there is a PhP5.00 difference between the two? If you answered “yes”, then this post is for you! If you answered “no”, then what the hell are you doing here?

  1. As you can see from the picture above, there is a clear separation between the milk and the tea for GC Milk Wintermelon. As for Wintermelon Milk, the milk and the tea is completely mixed together.
  2. The obvious, Wintermelon Milk is PhP5.00 cheaper than GC Milk Wintermelon.
  3. In terms of taste, my biased brain is saying that GC Milk Wintermelon is more refined than Wintermelon Milk, like it’s milkier than Wintermelon Milk. But there might not even be a difference between the two, really. Once you mix the GC Milk Wintermelon, it’ll look exactly like the Wintermelon Milk.

Just sharing a slightly different angled picture of the two just in case you forgot which is which (oh lord why is the naming so awful for these two).

The Verdict

Personally I didn’t taste that big a difference between the two milk teas to the point that I feel like the PhP5.00 difference is just due to the extra effort the employees need to put out in order to separate the milk from the tea (GC Milk Wintermelon) as opposed to just mixing it together (Wintermelon Milk). [Edit] We tried these two again and GC Milk Wintermelon’s tea is more apparent. On the otherhand, Wintermelon Milk is milkier.

Don’t agree? Let me know why in the comments section below!

Quick Review: Foss Coffee, Blueberries & Cream Frappe

Simply 5 out of 5.

For the low, low price of PhP55 ($1.20), their frappes exceeded expectations. For the price you’d expect it to be of low quality, to be quite airy, light– You know that feeling when you drink off of a straw, and you get 60% liquid, and 40% air? It wasn’t like that at all, its consistency was pleasantly creamy, very dense.

A very unflattering shot of the Foss Blueberries & Cream Frappe

I’m no frappe expert, but to me it did not taste like I was drinking some low cost frappe! We ordered the Blueberries & Cream from Foss Coffee, and the flavor did not disappoint, it wasn’t too sweet, nor too diluted.

This was purchased from Foss Coffee Market! Market! branch, by the way. On the top floor, near the ticketing. And I invite everyone reading this review to go and try one out, in any branch! Leave a comment if you liked the frappe or not. 🙋🙋🙋
