Review: Angel’s Pizza

Just as I was thinking of a local Filipino company that’s making a real effort to overthrow the more known American pizza chains, my mom decided we order from Angel’s Pizza.

Angel's Pizza. Pizza. Pasta. Combo.

I know Greenwich is already sort of that, but something more, for lack of a better word, minor. No advertisements,  no celebrity endorsements, no commercials to pull in customers, they just rely on plain ol’ word of mouth.

Angel’s Pizza has two dedicated numbers for the Fairview branch, 461-7501, or 461-7502. I called both of those but no one answered, so I decided to go for their oh-so well thought out number: 922-2222. And that’s our winner. We were told delivery time’s gonna be more than 30 minutes. Ours arrived 45 minutes later.

For the purposes of this review (*ehemnotreallyehem*), we ordered Angel’s Garden, and Angel’s Medley.

Wow, just wow.

Angel’s Pizza cut it in 10 slices, something I didn’t ask for during the call, but is a welcome change. I just wish they asked me first as it’s not expected, and as there are only 4 people who’re to eat this, 8 slices would have been perfectly fine. Thanks Angel’s Pizza for putting us in that position where you’d have to go, “Oh, I deserve that one extra slice of pizza cause work sucked today.”

The Taste
Now that we got some of those #foodPorn shots out of the way, let’s talk about the taste.

Welp, it was pretty, “meh”. Whatever it had for looks, it lacked in taste. Totally disappointing of course, since it already looked sooo good! Sadly, everything was just sooo bland, couldn’t taste the meat, couldn’t taste the cheese–

Why would you tease me cheese? Whyyyyyyyyy?

I had to go to the aid of pareng salt, and mareng pepper to give it the oomph it deserved. Such good looking pizzas cannot go to waste!

The Price
Angel’s offers the Double Deal All Day Promo: get 2 Big Family (14″) Pizzas for PhP725, and/or 2 Family (12″) Pizzas for PhP550. We chose the 2 Family Pizzas promo.

According to their flyer, their Family sized pizzas range from PhP366~470, while Big Family, P431~P599. Medium (9″) 269~340. And since we chose Family sized Angel’s Garden, PhP416, and Angel’s Medley PhP459, that amounts to a total of… PhP325 worth of savings! I think you got duped if you chose to order just one pizza instead of using the Double Deal promo.

But if you do feel like ordering just one of their pizzas, or any of their other offerings, it’s better to just order from their website since you’d get a 25% discount from there. It looks like it’s been running for a long while now since I saw them post it in their IG 81 weeks ago as of this writing.

The Verdict
Cons would be not asking whether to have it sliced to 10, or the usual 8 (don’t decide for me Angel’s Pizza!), and the lack of taste. Everything else is good.

Will I order again from Angel’s Pizza? Most definitely! I’m willing to give it another shot. I ordered from the Fairview branch and I believe taste differs from branch to branch. Plus, you just cannot dismiss a pizza that looks that good.
